Mumbai Local Harrow
If you're strolling down Station Road in Harrow and suddenly find yourself craving a burst of authentic Indian street food, Mumbai Local Harrow is exactly where you want to be. Nestled at 207 Station Rd, this vibrant eatery brings the spirit of Mumbai’s roadside stalls right into the heart of the UK. From the moment you walk through the wheelchair-accessible entrance, the aroma of spice, the sizzle of dosas on the griddle, and the cheerful hum of diners create an atmosphere that’s energetic, casual, and incredibly inviting.
Let’s talk about the menu - it’s a full-on celebration of Mumbai’s bold flavors and snack culture. One of the absolute must-try experiences here is the Unlimited Thali. It’s not just a meal; it’s a flavor journey - a colorful array of curries, chutneys, rotis, and rice served in the traditional way. You’ll want to come hungry for this one. Pair that with a glass of their Masala Chai, rich with warming spices and an unmistakable hint of nostalgia, and you’ve got yourself a proper Mumbai moment.
If you’re coming with friends or family, the Pani Puri Family Pack is the ultimate icebreaker. Crisp puris filled with spicy, tangy water and mashed potato - it’s messy, it’s fun, and it never gets old. For something fried and satisfying, the Chole Bhature is a stunner: puffed-up bhatura bread served with spicy chickpeas that somehow makes you forget the concept of portion control.
Mumbai Local Harrow also caters to fans of Indo-Chinese fusion - and trust me, the Hakka Noodles and Dry Manchurian don’t disappoint. There's a good balance of heat, texture, and umami. If you're leaning vegetarian or vegan, you’re in luck. Their Achaari Paneer Tikka, Ragda Pattice, and Papdi Chaat with Crispy Potato pack serious flavor without compromising dietary preferences. They’ve got vegan options clearly marked, so you won’t have to guess.
One standout in the small plates section is the Vada Pav - the ultimate Mumbai street snack. A deep-fried potato patty in a soft bun, slathered with chutney and fried green chili on the side. Simple. Spicy. Perfect. Equally unmissable is the Sev Puri, with layers of crunch, spice, tang, and freshness that hit every corner of your palate.
And don’t even think about skipping dessert. Their Faluda - a cold, creamy drink-dessert hybrid made with rose syrup, sweet basil seeds, vermicelli, and ice cream - is both indulgent and refreshing. For something baked, the menu offers rotating sweets that pair beautifully with their Masala Papad or a hot Mumbai-style filter coffee.
Service-wise, Mumbai Local Harrow is efficient and friendly, whether you’re dining in, grabbing a takeaway, or having your meal delivered. The dine-in setup is casual and welcoming, ideal for a relaxed lunch, a quick bite, or a low-key dinner. It’s also a solid spot for solo diners - no awkward silences, just great food and good vibes.
Accessibility is thoughtfully considered, with both the entrance and seating designed to accommodate wheelchair users. The menu features a good variety of healthy options, vegan and vegetarian dishes, plus a well-rounded drinks list that includes beer, cocktails, and even wine for those looking to unwind a little.
What sets Mumbai Local apart is the way it manages to bottle up the buzz of India’s street food culture and serve it in a way that feels local, approachable, and real. It’s the kind of place you discover once and then keep coming back to - whether for the food, the chai, or just the vibe.

They serve the best Pav Bhaji in London and no doubt about this. Most of their other dishes are either good or average in taste, but there is competition to their pav bhaji. We mostly go to this restaurant only to eat that.
You always get a very warm welcome at this restaurant. I have been on several occasions with an Indian friend who recommends the lovely vegetarian food. This time I took her advice and had the Thali, it was generous, freshly cooked and very tasty with a lovely selection of items. We had faluda mango too, which was a real treat and very nicely presented. Friendly, efficient and caring service from Sabna made for a relaxed and delicious lunch. The murals are great fun! I should love to return soon but I live quite a long way away.
Wow! Just unbelievable veggie foods and amazing service. Top ambience and a very friendly team to serve us. Been here after a very long time in 2019, this time around it exceeded my expectations on all fronts. Highly recommend this joint to anyone visiting Harrow. Very impressed with the fresh served foods and well presented with a fast service. Kudos to the entire team that runs this joint. Best wishes.
My mind went into overdrive deciding what to order off the gigantic menu. Overall I was impressed by the presentation and quality of the food. The unlimited thali was good value for money and came with unlimited masala chai, two curries and even Keri no Ras. The chilli paneer was garlicky and perfectly complemented by the fluffy garlic naan. The Ragda Pattice was lip-smackingly spicy and had good flavour. Service needs improvement as all the servers congregated near the till looking lifeless. The masala chai was also not forthcoming and we had to remind them to bring it as part of the thali. As a side note the small bowl of plain yogurt was ridiculously expensive at £2.95! I know inflation is rife but you are breaking my Guju heart! 22/12/24- ordered a vegetable grilled sandwich which was barely warm and the cheese was not melted. Don’t like the gladly that they just give you a packet of walkers crisps instead of putting it on the plate to eat with the sandwich.
What a great experience!! Amazing food quality and services was exceptional. Ranging from starter, mains & deserts - really tasty.. definitely recommend ⭐ Even surprised the chef the quantity of food we ordered - just couldn’t stop Very impressed overall - well done !! (Visited 25/02/2023)
